Something I think...

1.
At the park, Tony cries when he thinks his pigeon is going to get hurt by the kite. Why did the author have Tony cry instead of just getting very angry?

I think because Tony really loves his pigeon and he is heartbroken when he thinks his pigeon is going to get hurt but he don't know what to do. He is helpless.

2.
Why do you think this author wanted to write a story about kids for other kids to read?

The author may want to tell children care others feelings and show them some fight based on some misunderstanding .

I think what you said was actually meaningful. I think if a animal that i liked was going to get hurt i would do what is natural (get mad or cry) but i wouldn't cry. I would just get mad. But i think another reason that the author had tony cry was because he was actually mad at himself because naturally we blame ourself completly because we all make mistakes and that is a flaw in human nature
